1. Who is 'Light Weight Hosting'?

'Light Weight Hosting' is a brand launched in early 2024 by Cosmos Hosting to provide ultra affordable static web hosting. More information can be found on our About Page

2. What can 'Light Weight Hosting' be used for?

The intended target audience of Light Weight Static Hosting are developers and site owners who want a no-fuss, budget-friendly hosting solution for static sites, like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, documents and basic PHP files. Common uses include hosting basic websites and landing pages, email signatures & web assets, school and university projects

3. What is included in your hosting plans?

We provide a basic web dashboard containing a file manager, ability to add domains, backup manager, web & traffic statics and manage SSL certificates.
Our plans DO NOT include a DATABASE, DNS or EMAIL.
All plans comes with Ticket Only support.

4. How do I contact support?

You can contact our support team via Ticket. Our support team is available business hours (Hong Kong Time UTC/GMT +8 ).

5. Can I upgrade my hosting plan later?

Yes, you can upgrade your hosting plan at any time. Simply log in to your account and create a ticket

6. Can I host in multiple regions?

Yes, you can purchase an additional services to host in a different region

7. What can and can't I do on your platform?

Technical Questions

8. What types of hosting do you offer?

We only offer shared static website hosting

9. Does your hosting support WordPress?

No, WordPress and many complex CMS (Content Management Systems) requires a MYSQL/MariaDB database. Our hosting does not include a database.
You can consider converting your WordPress site to a static site beforehand.

10. Does your hosting include email?

No, our hosting does NOT contain any email or mailbox functionality. You can use a third-party SMTP provider such as SMTP2GO if you have scripts that require an email to be sent.

11. Do you have restrictions on how many visitors can visit my site?

No, we do not cap or limit how many people can visit your site.
We do impose bandwidth limits to prevent abuse however this is often more than plenty for most sites.
For extreamly busy sites we recommend using a CDN such as Cloudflare for best performance.

12. Where are your servers located?

We offer hosting servers in Germany, Singapore and United States (West Coast)

13. What hosting panel do you use?

We use the KeyHelp hosting control panel across our 'Light Weight' fleet

14. What web server software do you use?

We use Apache 2.4.6x and support .htaccess

15. What PHP versions do you support?

Our hosting services offer basic PHP support bound to the server default PHP version (Currently: 8.2)
We do not support legacy versions of PHP or offer the choice of PHP Versions.

16. How do I register or transfer my domain to your hosting service?

We do not offer domain registration services because we cannot match the competitive rates of NameSilo or PorkBun. We recommend using NameSilo or PorkBun for domain registrations due to their low renewal costs.

17. Do you offer DNS Hosting

We do not offer DNS or name server to help keep our affordable prices. Instead, we recommend using Cloudflare, which provides a far superior DNS hosting experience at no cost. Cloudflare's DNS services offer enhanced performance, reliability and option for CDN/WAF proxying.

18. Can I migrate between different 'Light Weight Host' regions?

Yes, we are able to migrate your service between servers if required.

19. Do you offer website migration services?

Yes, we offer free website migration services for new customers. Contact our support team to arrange the migration of your site.

20. How do I access my control panel?

You can access your control panel by logging in to your account on our website and clicking on the control panel link in the dashboard.

21. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit cards, cryptocurrency and offers of backlinks. Choose the payment method that best suits you during checkout.

22. How can I update my billing information?

You can update your billing information by logging in to your account and navigating to the billing section.

23. Are there any setup fees?

No, we do not charge any setup fees for our hosting plans. The price you see is the price you pay.

24. What is your refund policy?

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all our hosting plans. If you are not satisfied, you can request a refund within 30 days of purchase.

25. What currency do you bill in?

We bill in US Dollars

26. How soon will the service be activated?

All services undgo a basic fraud check prior to be activated, please allow up-to 24 hours

27. Do you offer Discounts?

Yes, We offer free hosting for Students, Charities and Not For Profits.
